Welcome to Sedbergh
Thorns Hall is a great base from which to explore the Yorkshire Dales and the Howgill Fells. Our Country House enjoys a splendid setting on the edge of Sedbergh, with views over green rolling countryside.
There are many ways to enjoy the great outdoors in the Dales. Walkers will love the outstanding range of paths on the doorstep, including the Dales Way which passes the edge of Sedbergh. Cyclists can enjoy the quiet country lanes, or off-road tracks.
If you want to take things at a more leisurely pace there is also a huge range of places to visit nearby. Your visits could include a ride on the Settle to Carlisle Railway, Wensleydale and Hawes. Kendal and the Lake District are also within easy reach.
Stay with us
Dating from 1535, the small manor house of Thorns Hall retains its historic charm with wood-panelled public rooms, fireplaces and a cobbled courtyard outside.
With an enviable location on the edge of Sedbergh, and surrounded by beautiful rolling countryside, it’s not surprising that many of our guests return year after year.
